When it comes to sealant, Hutchinson Protect Air Max sealant is a great all-rounder. I’ve tested it extensively on MTB, gravel and road bikes and it performed well in all three. It sits bang the middle of the scale – lasting an impressive amount of time (roughly 6-8 weeks in UK summer and 8-12 weeks in UK winter) as well as effectively sealing punctures.

“Hutchinson Protect Air Max is a latex sealant that can be used for Road Tubeless as well as MTB tires. It is compulsory for Tubeless Ready and Tubeless Protect’Air Max tires as it guarantees airtightness. If there is a puncture, the sealant acts to fill the hole (until 3mm) and repair the tire.”
